Squarespace Login, style guide and hosting credentials to be collected in the strategy questionnaire.

2. OUR COLLABORATION SOFTWARE

MOXIE

The primary tool I use is Moxie, a comprehensive software that handles your proposal agreement, invoices, task management as well as managing recurring payments for website care plans. All project payments will be processed through Moxie, which also powers your client portal. Upon signing your project agreement, you'll gain access to the Client Portal. Here, you’ll find your task list for any assignments, essential lists, and resources related to your project. Moxie ensures that all our correspondence is organised while we collaborate on your website build.

DROPBOX

To streamline our collaboration, we'll use Dropbox, a cloud-based file storage and sharing service, to collect all the images and graphics for your website. I will set up a shared folder for the project and will share the folder with you via email. You can upload all images and files there.

GOOGLE DOCS

We’ll use Google Docs to gather and refine your website content, keeping everything organised and easily accessible. I’ll provide structured templates for each page, with helpful prompts to guide you. The content will be collected in two phases. We can collaborate in real time using comments and suggestions. Once finalised, I’ll integrate the content into your website. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for endless email attachments. I’ll send over the templates once I’ve reviewed your strategy questionnaire.

3. HOW WE’LL COMMUNICATE

Email is the best way to communicate with me about your project. Please don’t send whatsapp, instagram or facebook messages to me about your project. Whilst DMs are quick and handy to send, emails are much easier to keep track of so I can ensure your questions or tasks are responded to efficiently and not lost.

In general I am quick to respond to emails received during my office hours. All emails received during the evenings and weekends will be answered the following working day.

Office Hours: 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (UK Time)

My email: hello@emilyhartdesign.com

4. THE DESIGN PROCESS

Designing a website, no matter how big or small, is an extensive process that can be overwhelming.
To better help you understand what to expect during the design and development, I’ve outlined my process into 3 steps:

  • 01: LAYOUT AND DESIGN

A large and time consuming part of designing a website is int he planning and layout stage of the process. I’ll create the sitemap (Page/ Menu hierarchy) of the website for approval first, then I’ll design the homepage and a sub page for approval.

  • 02: DEVELOPMENT

Once the site layout and design is approved, I’ll move forward with the designing the entire site, pages and add all functionality and plugins. We’ll make sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices and web browsers before moving to the final step.

  • 03: EDITS AND REVISIONS

Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to review each page and we can make detailed edits until the site is revised completely. We ask that you please review ALL pages to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct before going live.

5. WRAPPING UP AND GOING LIVE

Once the site is ready to go live, all unnecessary plugins, pages, images and backend files will be removed. The new site will be backed up and saved locally, should it ever need restored. Once live, it may take between 24-48 hours for the new site to pull up on some devices. Some computers will need to be refreshed in order to see the new site, though most computers will see the new site immediately depending on the wifi connection and where they are in relation to the location of server that the website is on.

Your website logins and all credentials will be sent to you via secure email insuring the security of your passwords. Though your logins and passwords will be saved by me locally, PLEASE SAVE ALL LOGINS FOR YOUR RECORDS AS WELL. Upon completion, you’ll receive a link to my “moving forward” page where you’ll receive tips and tricks on what to do with your new website and also information on our Maintenance/Security Plan which I highly recommend for all my clients.

And if you didn’t get a chance, please fill out the website strategy questionnaire that was sent to you.
