Designer for a Day
Focused Squarespace support to bring clarity, polish, and momentum to your website, without a full redesign.
A dedicated block of time to work on your site together. Ideal if you already have a Squarespace website but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure what to prioritise next — and want thoughtful, practical progress in a calm, supported way.
Website updates, minus the overwhelm
You know your website needs attention, but finding the time, headspace, or confidence to work on it yourself feels hard.
And handing it over for a big project doesn’t feel quite right either.
A Designer for a Day gives you focused, contained support, without dragging things out or making it more complicated than it needs to be.
We decide what matters most, I handle the technical and design side, and you leave the day knowing things have actually moved forward.

What Can a Design Day Be Used For?
-
A gentle refresh to help your website feel more aligned, cohesive, and professional. This might include refining layout, spacing, imagery, or visual hierarchy so everything feels intentional and easier to take in — without a full redesign.
-
We’ll look at how your pages are organised and how visitors move through your site. This can include simplifying navigation, improving page order, or adjusting calls to action so your site feels clearer and more intuitive to use.
-
If you need to add a new page or update existing content, we can work on this together. This could include services pages, sales pages, or refining copy and layout on pages that no longer reflect where your business is now (scope dependent).
-
A focused tidy-up of the SEO basics that often get overlooked. This may include page titles, meta descriptions, headings, image optimisation, and general best-practice setup to help your site work quietly and effectively behind the scenes.
-
Support with the technical pieces that can feel fiddly or overwhelming — such as contact forms, email sign-ups, booking links, basic integrations, or Squarespace settings — so everything works smoothly and reliably.
-
This is your space to ask questions and build confidence using your site. I’ll explain what I’m doing as we go, show you how to make simple updates yourself, and help you feel more comfortable managing your website after the day is over.
How The Process Works
01
A SHORT PREP CALL
Before booking, we’ll have a brief call to talk through what you’d like support with and make sure a Design Day is the right fit. This helps us set clear priorities and avoid trying to do too much in one day.
02
BOOKING & PREPARATION
Once booked, you’ll receive a short preparation guide so you know exactly what to gather ahead of time, things like links, login access, and any key notes or ideas. This ensures our time together is focused and productive.
03
DESIGN DAY
For 7 hours I’ll work through the agreed tasks while staying in touch with you for check-ins and decisions where needed. It’s collaborative but calm, no rushing, no pressure, just steady progress on the areas that matter most.
04
REVIEW & POLISH
Towards the end of the session, we’ll review what’s been completed, make any final refinements, and ensure everything feels aligned and finished. If something needs more time, we’ll talk honestly about next steps.
05
AFTER THE DAY
You’ll have time after the session to settle into the changes, ask questions, and make sense of what’s been done. All mobile layouts will be designed for any content I have created on your site the day after.
06
SUPPORT
Your Design Day transformation includes 14 days of post email support relating to the work we accomplished where you can ask me any questions. If ongoing support would be helpful, I can also guide you towards care options.
FAQS
Need Some Clarity?
-
No. You don’t need to sit with me throughout the day. I’ll check in with you at agreed points if decisions are needed, but otherwise you’re free to step away while the work happens.
-
I’m happy to help refine existing copy and guide you on structure, tone, and clarity during the session. You’ll provide the main copy and images, but I can also recommend stock image resources or additional support if needed.
-
After the session, you’ll receive a short summary of what we worked on, along with any notes or recommendations for next steps. You’re also welcome to explore ongoing support options if you’d like continued help.
-
Yes, it can. Some clients use a Design Day as a standalone refresh, while others use it as a stepping stone into a larger custom project. There’s no pressure either way.
-
A Design Day is ideal if you already have a Squarespace website and want focused help improving, refining, or moving things forward. It works best when you have a clear sense of what’s not quite working — even if you’re not sure how to fix it yet. If you need a full website build from scratch, a custom project will be a better fit.
-
That depends on the scope and complexity of what you’d like help with. Before booking, we’ll agree clear priorities so the time feels focused and achievable. The aim isn’t to rush through a long list, but to make meaningful progress on the areas that matter most.
-
If we reach the end of the session and there’s more you’d like help with, you can book additional support — whether that’s another Design Day, a half-day session, or ongoing care. We’ll talk through the best next step calmly and honestly.
-
You’ll receive a short preparation guide outlining what to gather ahead of time, such as login access, key links, and any notes or priorities. This helps us use the day well without over-preparing or feeling overwhelmed.
Before the day itself, you’ll need to send over any necessary assets – like images, copy, or branding materials – so I have everything ready to dive straight in.
